Weekly King County Market Watch
King County’s latest weekly data showed a slowdown in sales activity around Labor Day, alongside a sharp return of sellers. Closed sales fell 40.7% to 274, while new pending sales declined 16.2% to 377. New listings jumped 75.4% to 1,207, lifting active inventory 5.8% to 8,265 homes, the highest level in the weeks shown and expanding buyer choices heading into fall. The median sold price rose 4.5% to $897,000, though weekly price changes can reflect the mix of homes sold. Homes that closed averaged 35 days on market and sold for 98% of list price. The holiday period may have contributed to softer sales activity, but the surge in listings signals renewed seller participation, with the coming weeks revealing whether buyer demand keeps pace.
